Simply Fostering has a number of agencies registered to recruit potential foster carers in Milton Keynes, to place children who are being referred from Milton Keynes Council.

Foster carers who are identified as living within the Milton Keynes geographical boundaries, will also qualify for placements being referred from Bedford County Council and Central Bedfordshire placements, which have recently joined forces under a partnership tender in conjunction with Luton Borough Council.

Milton Keynes children’s services as of July 2016 has three hundred and fifty-eight children being looked after by the local authority. One hundred and forty-one children and young people live outside the local authority area, with thirty-eight living in residential children’s homes and one child lives in a residential special school.

Milton Keynes children and young people in care are living in a number of different settings, with two hundred and seventy-eight children living with foster carers, fourteen living with parents, and thirty-six of these children are unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people.

Foster Carer Applicants

Milton Keynes has a diverse range of children being placed in care and needs a diverse range of foster carer’s from all types of backgrounds, to enable good positive matching of foster placements to children’s needs.

We require applications from couples, single people, older people, young people over the age of twenty-one years, applications are welcomed from the LGBT community, heterosexual communities, and ethnic minorities. You can foster if you are on benefits, if you are disabled, with the minimum starting point being the foster carer applicant needs to have the availability to foster, a spare bedroom available, they need to have a driving license and access to a vehicle.

We require motivated people to provide a professional, nurturing, and caring service to children and young people in and around Milton Keynes. We require foster carers who can provide placements for sibling groups, disabled children, special needs children, and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

We also require carers who can care for all ages of children from four years up to teenage years. For this service foster, carers will be paid a professional allowance of up to £550 per week for a child with complex needs, down to £420 per week for a standard placement.
