A New Foster a Teenager Campaign

Teenage Kicks Fostering Campaign – Launched on 25th October 2014. A new Teenage Kicks campaign ( has been launched by Doncaster Children’s Services Trust in partnership with Doncaster Rovers. The campaign hopes to raise awareness of the positive effect that fostering a teenager can bring. Fostering a young person through their teenage years will help them to develop into confident young people and can be very rewarding.

Many of the young players at Doncaster Rovers have lived with a ‘host’ family and these teenagers have spoken about how important a good support system is when living away from your family.

I Love Fostering Campaign

50,000 specifically selected households have been targeted for a mail drop as part of a recruitment campaign in Buckinghamshire. The I Love Fostering ( campaign  is aimed at residents who are more likely to consider fostering, such as families who have a large house, whose children have left home or who have retired. Other residents who work as teachers, police officers or youth workers will also be targeted.

Foster Care Fortnight 2015

The date for next year’s Foster Care Fortnight will be between 1 – 14 June 2015. The annual event helps to raise the profile of fostering. Fostering services from all over the country will have the opportunity to be involved in the UK’s biggest foster carer recruitment campaign.

Foster Carer Awards

A gay couple from Bradford have won a Foster Carers Award . Mark Moorhouse and Nick Dennison were nominated for the award by their foster son, Luke. Mark said ‘ It was amazing. We foster because we want to show children who have had difficulty early in their lives that there are people who care and want to help them.’

Edward Timpson MP and TV Chef Lorraine Pascale handed out the awards at the Foster Carer Awards ceremony in London last week. The event was launched by FosterTalk (, a not-for-profit organisation, to recognise the work that foster carers carry out in the UK.
